The National Empowerment Foundation, is a not-for-profit Government-owned company, and operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Social Integration & Economic Empowerment.

The Foundation’s mandate is to reduce poverty through socio-economic empowerment of vulnerable families with a view to ensuring their integration in the mainstream of society.

In this respect, the Foundation provides services to:

  • improve the living conditions, including provision of social housing in deprived regions;
  • enhance employability through placement and training of the unemployed ;
  • encourage entrepreneurship, particular among retrenched and unemployed women; and
  • promote child and family development through integrated community development programmes.
